CURRICULUM

Denver Venture School offers a rigorous college preparatory curriculum that integrates concepts of business and entrepreneurship into all core academic areas.  Students at DVS can expect to take:

  • 4 years of math
  • 4 years of science
  • 4 years of Spanish
  • 4 years of humanities which includes history, English,
    literature, social studies and geography

In addition, we have teamed with Junior Achievement to offer rich business content that is closely integrated with our core curriculum.  Our aim is to prepare every student to open and run their own business as part of the school program.  All students will participate in weekly JA courses that include:

  • Success skills - developing interpersonal effectiveness and problem-solving skills necessary for the workplace
  • Careers with a purpose – understanding personal strengths, weaknesses and areas of interest
  • Global business ethics - exploring personal values, character development, and moral and social responsibility
  • Company Program - with the support and guidance of volunteer consultants from the local business community, students will break into teams to organize and operate an actual business enterprise.  They will not only learn how businesses function, they will also develop the skills and character traits of successful entrepreneurs including independence, self-confidence, a strong work ethic, and a passion for success
